The conditional form of a verb means 'if (verb)'.
The conditional is formed by replacing the う sound of the dictionary form with the equivalent え and then adding ば. So for example:
  • よむ read ➜ よめば if I read
  • たべる eat ➜ たべれば if I eat
This 'ば form' can actually be used with adjectives and nouns. In the case of い adjectives, the い is replaced with ければ:
  • よい good ➜ よければ if it's good
  • ない not ➜ なければ if it's not
For nouns and な adjectives, just add であれば (which comes from である, a form of 'is'):
  • にちようび
    日曜日
    Sunday ➜
    にちようび
    日曜日
    であれば if it's Sunday
  • しず
    か quiet ➜
    しず
    かであれば if it's quiet
