Like なくてはいけません, this is a term used to express obligation "to have to" do something. The なければ form is created by taking the negative plain form and replacing the ない with なければ.
For example:
べんきょうする I study
➜ べんきょうしない I do not study
➜ べんきょうしなければなりません I have to study.
