父 (ちち) is the humble term used to refer to one's own father. お父さん (おとうさん) is the honorific form used to refer to other people's fathers. To talk to one's own father in informal situations, either お父さん or more commonly just 父さん is fine.
お父さん is also used when making direct reference to one's own father, for example when calling out to your own father, as in the English 'Dad'. For example:
とう
さん、
きょう
今日
なんじ
何時
まで
くるま
をつかうつもり? Dad, what time are you planning on using the car until today?
The equivalent forms for mother are
はは
and お
かあ
さん (or just 母さん).
