The word
かた
can be used as a polite way to refer to a person. For example:
インフルエンサーのかたinfluencer
がいこくのかたnon-Japanese person
日本のかたJapanese person
あのかたthat person (over there)
Literally translated, インフルエンサーのかた would mean 'a person who is an influencer', but the Japanese is equivalent to simply saying 'influencer'.
がいこくのかた is the best polite way to refer to someone from a country other than Japan. Another polite term you may encounter is がいこくじん. The term がいじん is also used, but depending on context the term may have negative connotations.
かた can be written in either kanji or kana. The kanji form is more common.
