まった
く is most commonly used as an adverb meaning 'completely' or 'entirely'.

昨日
った
こと
まった
おぼ
えていない

To tell the truth, I don't remember anything I said yesterday.
Somewhat unusually, 全くdoes not need to be placed adjacent to the word it modifies - it can also appear before the entire phrase.

うんざりした
I've had just about enough of her.
全く can be used with の to modify a noun, in which it means 'a complete ~'.

That fellow is a thorough fool.
全く can also be used on its own to imply complete agreement, or sometimes 'I knew it ...'.

You're quite right.
全く also appears in hiragana somewhat less commonly.
