Grammar detail: verb negative form
verb negative form
Tweet
My current mastery of this grammar point:
To create the negative plain form, replace the る of an ichidan verb with ない, and the う sound of a godan verb with あない.
Ichidan | たべる | たべない |
Godan | よむ | よまない |
To create the polite negative form, replace ます with ません for any verb.
Ichidan | たべます | たべません |
Godan | よみます | よみません |
