わけ is a useful and very common word used to indicate the reason for something. It can be encountered as part of several different constructions.
The most straightforward usage is to directly explain a reason:
Depending on context, this can mean 'of course' such and such is the case.
わけ + ない meaning 'no reason' can be used to mean 'impossible', 'there's no way that'.
いう (to say) + わけ is the origin of the term
