The Kanshudo Challenge uses a combination of learning games and tests to help you learn a kanji with associated words and example sentences. It's the most effective way we've found for studying kanji.
If you complete the kanji / grammar / word requirements for a mastery level, but you don't have enough study points, Kanshudo will automatically offer you the opportunity to take a Boost to 'test up' to the next mastery level. If you pass you will have the choice of moving up or not. If you fail, you will have another chance a day or so later.
