The verb いただく (sometimes written with kanji as 頂く) is used in several situations and grammatical forms. This article provides an overview.

いただきます / いただきましょう

The first usage of いただく you may encounter is as part of the set phrases, いただきます and いただきましょう, which are both used before meals. いただきます means effectively 'thank you for the food'. In the same situation, いただきましょう means 'let's eat'.
パイもう1ついかがですええいただきます
"Will you have another slice of pie?" "Yes, please."

a polite form of もらう

The verb もらう is the standard verb meaning 'receive' or 'accept', and いただく is a humble (and hence politer) direct equivalent. This is often used as a polite way to ask for something or accept an offer for something.

て form + いただく

The て form of a verb plus いただく is the humble form of てもらう, and is used to mean having someone perform the action described by the verb on one's behalf.

causative て form + いただく

The causative form of a verb plus いただく takes this a stage further - now, the action is being performed by the speaker, but the speaker is 'humbly requesting permission' to perform the action.

よろしいでしょう
May I speak with you?

ご + する verb + いただく

This is similar in meaning to the て + いただく form, but used with する verbs.
