Note that although in Japanese this is the inverse of 〜なくてはいけません, which means 'must do' or 'have to do', the English is not directly the inverse, which would be 'do not have to do'.
The plain form is 〜てはいけない, and the more informal version is 〜ちゃいけない.

It is technically correct to use ては
けません, as this form is actually based on the potential form of
